My name is Allyson Edison, aka The Sidekick Mom.
I am a wife and stay-at-home mom to two boys and one sweet pup. My husband and I were both raised in Oklahoma and just moved back recently after spending some time living in Colorado.
Before starting our family, I spent years working in museums, financial aid offices, and non-profit organizations. Every job had one thing in common: the details were crucial. An abrasion not noted in a priceless artifact’s condition report, or the wrong number on someone's financial aid disbursement, would be a big problem.
The details have always mattered to me, but seem more important now than ever as a parent.

I’ll admit, my worst-case scenario thinking of "what if I buy the wrong thing and it doesn't fit our needs?" genuinely haunted my brain. I don't want to waste time, money, or effort on the wrong purchase. I want to get it right the first time.
Research everything, buy once.
I read thousands of reviews, watched hundreds of videos, polled plenty of mom friends, scoured product websites & FAQ pages, and finally shared my registry. As a soon-to-be first-time parent, I felt like I should have earned a second degree alongside my actual one in vocal performance. There was so much to learn about car seats, infant sleep, diapering, and more.
Now I'm thankful to have the experience to go with it. Both of my boys arrived early at 36 weeks and 2 days (first via emergency c-section and second as a VBAC). They are amazing and I thank God everyday that I’m their mama.

I never stopped. Every product I consider for my family still gets the same treatment. I started answering questions in mom groups, texting recommendations to friends, and honestly? I loved every minute of it. So I found a way to do it for more people.
That's what this is. I do the research. I spend the time. So you don't have to.

Good vs. best is a real conversation I have about every product. Quality at the right price.
Because I have three boys and real life has to be workable. A product that wins on safety but can't actually be used doesn't really win.
